Sokoto Governor Supports Nigerian Army Against Insecurity

The Sokoto state Governor in Northwest Nigeria, Ahmed Aliyu, has re-assured his administration’s readiness to support the Nigerian Army and other security agencies to tackle security challenges in the State.

Governor Aliyu gave the assurance in a farewell message to the outgoing Garrison Commander 8 Division Nigerian Army Sokoto, Brigadier General Taye Ahmed.

In a statement by Governor Aliyu’s Press Secretary, Abubakar Bawa, the Governor described the role of security operatives in tackling banditry as critical to achieving a prosperous and the most secured State.

Governor Aliyu added that his administration will leave no stone unturned in providing the necessary support to Security agencies to provide a safe environment for the people of the state.

He extolled the contributions of the outgoing Garrison Commander in the fight against armed Bandits and charged the incoming Commander to maintain the tempo, assuring him of all the needed support and assistance.

Earlier, the outgoing Garrison Commander 8 Division Nigeria Army Headquarters Sokoto, Brigadier General Taye Ahmed, commended Governor Aliyu for his continued support to the military towards ensuring a secured  Sokoto State.

General Taye thanked the Governor and all other stakeholders who contributed towards all the successes recorded during his service in Sokoto State.

Also, the new Garrison Commander, Brigadier General Alexander Tawasimi, vowed to do his best and sustain his predecessor’s achievements in the fight against Banditry in the state.

General Alexander further promised to work diligently and in collaboration with other sister security agencies to achieve a peaceful state.
