An administrative building was hit and slightly damaged in a drone attack on the Russian town of Kurchatov in the country’s south-east Kursk region, according to regional governor Roman Starovoit.
No other damage, casualties or injuries were reported by officials on Friday.
Earlier in the morning, authorities had initially reported the attack by two drones on Kurchatov but Starovoit later corrected the information.
The city, which has about 40,000 residents, was named after the Russian nuclear physicist Igor Kurchatov.
It is built to operate the Kursk nuclear power plant in the 1970s.
It is about 40 kilometres west of the regional capital Kursk.
A Russian military airport near Kursk was recently attacked by Ukrainian drones.
Kiev is said to have used unmanned aerial vehicles made from cardboard for the first time.
The nearby Belgorod region in Russia, which also shared a border with Ukraine, also reported on Friday overnight drone attacks.
Ukraine had been fending off a full-scale Russian invasion since February 2022.
The attacked country is increasingly trying to compensate for its inferiority in fighter aircraft and missiles with combat drones, some of which are of its own production.
