Ogun: DSS detains chairman who accused Gov Abiodun of diverting LG funds

The suspended Chairman of Ijebu-East Local Government Area of Ogun State, Wale Adedayo, is currently in the custody of the Department of State Security (DSS), in Abeokuta.

Adedayo had been summoned by the DSS following allegations that Governor Dapo Abiodun had been diverting funds meant for the local governments in the state.

He confirmed to newsmen earlier on Friday that he was at the office of the security agency in Oke-Mosan.

One of his aides, who pleaded not to be named due to security reasons, told journalists that his principal was still with the DSS as at 9pm.

According to him, he had accompanied Adedayo to the entrance of the DSS office, during the day, but he was yet to be released as of 9pm.

Our correspondent could not immediately confirm why the suspended chairman is yet to be released by the DSS.
