Nigerian govt to extend feeling program to Military schools — Minister

Federal Government has announced plans to expand the National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme, NHGSFP, to accommodate pupils of Military Schools across the country.

Dr Betta Edu, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation disclosed this during her recent visit to the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Hassan Abubakar in Abuja.

”We would actually be rejigging this programme, so we are coming up with more innovative ways of providing this services to Nigerians.

‘Because, we have malnutrition as an issue for us to manager, we want to concentrate on it so that pupils who are from class one to five can benefit.

”We will step it all the way down to bring in more efficiency to the programme, It will be all encompassing and that is another avenue that we can partner” she said.

The Minister also hinted the idea of establishing a military desk office in the humanitarian ministry to liaise with them on constant basis.

”So that while we are preparing every program we have to write to you and then your desk officer liaise with us.

”You can tell us the areas where we can collaborate with you for the pupils of the military schools to benefits from our work
