Labour Union Extols Sokoto State Governor’s Leadership Style 

The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Sokoto State Chapter, Chairperson, Mr Abdullahi Aliyu has extolled the leadership style of Governor Ahmed Aliyu of the state.

Mr Aliyu said that with the current commitments if sustained the state would experience the Governor’s desire of making Sokoto a new state.

He stated this while addressing Journalists in Sokoto State North West, Nigeria.

The labour leader further appreciated the Governor for his pledge to initiate measures of supporting the civil servants in the state.

He said; “We are sensing a government that is fully inclusive, with a leader who distinguish himself as democrat not a ruler.

“This is a leader, that before his 100 days in office has shown a great impact on governance, exemplified the importance of continuity in government.” 

He applauded the Governor for restoration of the education levy which has been deducted from workers salary in the past six years.

The Chairperson also thanked the Governor for restoration of Cash allocation to all Ministries, Departments and Agencies of the state.

He assured the government that the NLC would continue to support the Governor’s dedication and commitments towards uplifting the the state.

Mr Aliyu commended workers in the state for their full compliance in the 2-day warning strike embarked upon by the Congress across the country.

According to him, “the Labour Congress would continue to pursue workers entitlement and ensure the present economic hardship on citizens is generously addressed.”

“Our workers and other affiliates of the NLC have shown dedication and commitment toward ensuring the success of our struggle for better living condition for all.

“We will continue to remain on our oath to support the government to achieve the desired economy that will provide food on the table of the poor and the general public,” he said.
