PEPT judegment: Peter Obi has made Christians unable to condemn Muslim presidential candidates – Omokri

Reno Omokri, a sociopolitical activist, has said Christians will have no moral right to condemn Muslim presidential candidates in the future.

Omokri anchored his claim on the failure of the Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate, Peter Obi, at the presidential election tribunal.

He recalled how Christians were clapping for Obi while he was “jumping from church to church” during the presidential campaign.

Tweeting, Omokri said Obi lost at the tribunal despite the weaponization of religion by Christians.

He wrote: “In future elections, Nigerian Christians will have no moral authority to condemn any Muslim Presidential candidate who goes to campaign in mosques.

“Were we not the ones who were clapping when Peter Obi was jumping from church to church, shouting, ‘Church, wake up. Take back your country.’ As if the country belongs to only Christians.

“And after all that weaponising of religion, Peter Obi, the single Christian candidate, still lost in a race where the Muslim vote was split amongst three strong Muslim candidates.

“Do you know what that has done to the political chances of Christians in future? This man just selfishly exposed our numerical weakness in future elections.”
