My administration will partner NGOs to restore glory of Zamfara – Gov Lawal

Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has stated that his administration will partner and work with non governmental organizations, NGOs, to restore the glory of the State.

Lawal gave the assurance while meeting with NGOs at the Centre for Civil Society Organisations, CSOs, in Gusau, the State capital.

The Governor, who was represented by the Commissioner, Budget and Economic Planning, Barrister Abdulmalik Abubakar Gajam, said the State government was ready to collaborate with all NGOs in the interest of the State.

He urged all representatives of the NGOs to maintain a constructive partnership with the State government in order to build a new Zamfara.

“I want to assure you that my administration is very much ready to welcome any individual, group of people or organizations who truly have the interest of the State at heart to explore their expertise to move the State forward.

”I assure you that my administration is an eager partner with all relevant bodies and will work together to restore the lost glory of the State.

“Zamfara is faced with serious challenges, ranging from insecurity to decay in educational system, among other key issues of concern, and all these need collaborations to tackle them,” he said.

In his remarks, the State Chairman, Coalition of NGOs, Ibrahim Tudu assured that they would give the government all the necessary support.

“We have the capacity in almost every area, be it in education, environment, health, among others.

“Recall that the previous government refused to engage the NGOs in all its activities, instead they even banned their activities, which led to loss of all the needed expertise,” he said.
