Jigawa: We will track your performances – Gov Namadi tells apointees

Governor Malam Umar Namadi of Jigawa State says he will be tracking the activities of the newly-appointed commissioners, heads of government agencies and parastatals.

The governor stated this while presenting his opening remarks at a two-day retreat for members of the Jigawa State Executive Council and other top government officials held in Kaduna on Monday.

He said his administration is going to hold top officials accountable for the performance of their respective ministries, departments, and agencies in fulfilling its commitment to uplift the economic status of its citizens.

According to him, “We are going to track the activities of the heads of the MDAs by defining specific milestones and performance indicators, emphasising the importance of real-time performance assessment, with support from partners like PERL-ARC.”

He noted that the partnership with development organisations such as FCDO, UNICEF, and Save the Children, has helped the state overcome some of it’s challenges.

Earlier, the representative of the FCDO, Abubakar Tijjani, reaffirmed their commitment to advancing the state’s 12-point agenda and pledged continued partnership with the Jigawa State Government.

The event was organised in collaboration with the FCDO-funded PERL-ARC programme, with the theme “Accelerating Socio-economic Development for a Greater Jigawa.”
