Nigeria Deploys 16 Volunteers to Liberia for Technical Aid: Enhancing Educational Capacities

By Zubairu Mohammed, Abuja

Sixteen Nigerian volunteers have been carefully selected and deployed to Liberia to provide essential Technical Aid in various educational capacities.

Dr. Yusuf Yakubu, the Director General of the Directorate for Technical Aids and Corps, made this announcement during the deployment exercise.

“Our core mission is to facilitate the recruitment and orientation of Nigerian professionals from diverse fields of expertise, enabling their deployment to recipient countries in Africa, Caribbean, and Pacific regions, where their professional acumen is greatly required,” stated Dr. Yakubu.

“This has been Nigeria’s unwavering commitment since the establishment of the Directorate in 1987, solidified by an Act of Parliament in 1993,” Dr. Yakubu continued.

The Director General emphasized the importance of the volunteers serving as excellent ambassadors for Nigeria during their mission in Liberia.

“You have all received the necessary orientation on the Technical Aids Corps (TAC) scheme and understand the responsibilities that come with it. It is therefore expected that your involvement in this noble calling of serving humanity and our nation should be characterized by patriotism, discipline, commitment to service, obedience to authority, and dedication to the agreement you have made with your country,” cautioned the Director General.

Dr. Yusuf Yakubu further explained that this commitment aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision of the Renewed Hope Agenda, and stressed the need for collaboration with all stakeholders to achieve the goals of this vision.

“In complete compliance with Mr. President’s mandate to all officials of this administration, within less than a month of assuming our roles in the Directorate for Technical Aids and Corps (DTAC), we embarked on the pursuit of a 3-Point Agenda that complements his Renewed Hope Agenda. These pillars are: Re-Positioning, Re-Energizing, and Re-Engineering,” stated Dr. Yakubu.
