Lookman bags brace, Samu scores in domestic Cup

Ademola Lookman and Samuel Chukwueze both found the back of the net for their respective teams in their domestic cup matches on Thursday, Sports Extra reports.

Lookman continued his rich vein of form as he followed up his goal scoring performance in the Serie A four days ago with another impressive showing for Atalanta in the Coppa Italia as they defeated Spezia 5-2.

The hosts started the game impressively and waited until the 10th minute before Lookman gave them the opener via a superb goal and he scored the second on the 12th minute mark as the Nigeria international drilled home following a slick one-two with Duvan Zapata.

The Super Eagles forward has scored 11 goals in all competitions for Atalanta this campaign and this is already the highest scoring season of his career.

Atalanta will now take on Inter Milan in the quarter-finals at the San Siro on January 31.

For Chukwueze playing in the Spanish Copa del Rey with Villareal, his euphoria at putting his side two goals up against Real Madrid was short lived as a better showing in the second half from Los Blancos saw them earn a 3-2 comeback win.

After Etienne Capoue put Villareal in front, Chukwueze scored the second goal of the game in the 42nd minute to end the first half 2-0 up.

Goals from Vinicius Jr, Eder Militao and Dani Ceballos saw Madrid emerge eventual winners.

In the Hybrid Friendlies match, Odion Ighalo was an unused substitute as PSG won the game 5-4 against the Riyadh XI.
