The Muslim Rights Concern, MURIC, has expressed its appreciation to the Nigerian military for successfully uncovering a gun-making factory in Kaduna State.
In a statement released on Monday in Abuja, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, the Executive Director of MURIC, described the military operation as a breakthrough and a significant revelation in the efforts of security agencies and the Kaduna State Government to expose the individuals behind the violence in the state.
A Major Breakthrough in Southern Kaduna
On Friday, September 22, a gun-making factory was discovered in Kafanchan, Jemaah Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Soldiers of Operation Safe Haven made the remarkable find, which included a variety of weapons such as rifles, shotguns, AK 47 rifles, sub-machine guns, pistols, and ammunition. Additionally, police and army uniforms were also found. Two individuals, Napoleon John and Monday Dunia, were arrested in connection to the illegal activities.
MURIC expressed its utmost admiration for the Nigerian Army in uncovering this gun-making factory. The organization believes that this discovery serves as a testament to the exceptional professionalism and capabilities of Nigerian soldiers. Prof. Akintola further emphasized the importance of providing the necessary equipment, motivation, and welfare for the army, as he believes that with these provisions, no army in the world can surpass them in competence.
Implications and Expectations
MURIC has called on the security agencies to relentlessly pursue the matter and ensure that all the suspects involved are apprehended, prosecuted, and punished according to the laws of the land. The organization stressed that the integrity of the army is at stake and that any form of cover-up or sabotage should not be tolerated. MURIC also urged the Kaduna State government to assign the state Ministry of Justice to collaborate closely with Operation Safe Haven soldiers and the state police command to ensure a thorough and transparent investigation. The organization emphasized that the public is eagerly following the outcome of the investigation and subsequent prosecution, and any delay or lack of updates could escalate the growing tension.
Nigerians are hopeful that justice will prevail, and that the unveiling of this gun-making factory will help to dismantle criminal networks and reduce the incidences of violence in Southern Kaduna.
