Operation Safe Haven, the multi-security taskforce responsible for maintaining peace in Plateau, parts of Bauchi, and Southern Kaduna, has announced that the body of the slain Fulani leader, Adamu Idris, has yet to be found.
Adamu Idris, who served as the Ardo (leader of the Fulani community) in the Panyam District of Mangu Local Government Area in Plateau State, was tragically killed on Saturday evening.
The late Idris was reportedly attacked while returning from a visit to the District Head of Panyam, and his body’s whereabouts remain unknown.
Captain Oya James, spokesperson for Operation Safe Haven, stated on Monday that a search team has been deployed to the area in an effort to locate the victim’s remains. The command is determined to exhaust all possibilities in the search for the body.
Captain James assured the public that the perpetrators of this heinous act will be apprehended and brought to justice.
In a statement, Captain James urged residents of the area to remain calm, saying, “We are actively searching for the individuals responsible for this incident. It is indeed a tragic event. Since Saturday morning, our troops have been tirelessly combing the area to bring the culprits to justice.”
