Ekiti LG poll: Governor Oyebanji Guarantees Fairness, Vows Not to Impose Candidates

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, has assured the people of Ekiti State that he will not impose any candidate on them for the upcoming local government election in December. He emphasized his commitment to fairness and stated that all contestants will be given equal opportunities.

In a Town Hall Meeting held in Ido Ekiti with stakeholders from the Ekiti North Senatorial District, which includes Ido/Osi, Moba, Ilejemeje, Ikole, and Oye local government areas, Governor Oyebanji discussed preparations for the 2024 budget and highlighted his government’s strategic approach to project execution. He affirmed that all projects undertaken will be based on collective requests from communities and local governments.

Addressing the stakeholders, Governor Oyebanji said, “I will be fair to all of you. I am a process person, so nobody should put me under pressure because the party has been handed into the hands of the leaders. They are the owners of the party, so all of you, particularly the contestants, must cooperate with them. I am not going to impose anybody.”

The governor also cautioned those vying for council positions, stating that respecting the leaders of the party is crucial for effective council management. He proclaimed that he has instructed the party leaders to take charge, emphasizing his support for the party and its leaders.

During the meeting, Governor Oyebanji listened to the demands and concerns raised by the representatives of each council area. He reiterated his promise to the people of Ekiti State, stating, “I am going to deliver everything I promised the Ekiti people. I am not going to be distracted. I have my plans, and I will follow them diligently. You are my employers, and I owe it a duty to always come and provide feedback.”
