The Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee, currently investigating the alleged diversion of palliatives by government officials and stakeholders, has summoned five Local Government Chairmen from the Keffi zone of the State to provide their testimony.
The Chairmen who appeared at Monday’s sitting are from Kokona, Keffi, Karu, and Nasarawa Local Government Areas (LGAs), while Toto LGA was represented by the deputy Chairman.
The LG Chairmen presented documents to the committee, detailing their palliative distribution methods. The Chairmen of Karu and Nasarawa LGAs were asked to return on another scheduled day to provide additional information.

The Committee, chaired by the Deputy Speaker of the House, Hon Abel Yakubu Bala, expressed its commitment to fully investigating the matter and uncovering the truth.
All Honourable Commissioners in the State and Local Government Chairmen have been invited to attend the inquiry to provide relevant information concerning the distribution of palliatives in their respective areas.
Chairman Bala emphasized that all the Commissioners and Local Government Chairmen from the Northern Zone, including Akwanga, Wamba, and Nassarawa Eggon, are required to appear on Wednesday. On Thursday, the Commissioners and LG Chairmen from the five LGAs of the Southern Zone will be summoned.
“This committee has called upon you to provide information on how the palliatives provided by the Federal and Nasarawa State Governments were distributed in your respective local government areas,” added the Chairman.
