The National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) has expressed its unwavering commitment to providing support to the Nigerian government in its efforts towards improving the lives of its citizens. Dr. Ayo Omotayo, the Director General of NIPSS, made this statement during an interview with State House Correspondents on Tuesday.
A Pledge of Support
Dr. Omotayo, who led the Management of NIPSS on a courtesy visit to Vice President Kashim Shettima, stated that their purpose for visiting the seat of power was to brief their supervisor, the Vice President, on their activities and plans. He commended Vice President Shettima for his profound understanding of the challenges faced by Nigeria and his ability to propose effective solutions. In response, Dr. Omotayo assured that NIPSS is prepared to rise to the occasion and provide policy advisory services as well as devise strategies to help the government achieve its vision of a better Nigeria in a short period of time.
NIPSS and the Vice President
NIPSS is under the supervision of the office of the Vice President, and Dr. Omotayo highlighted that they have not yet had the opportunity to brief Vice President Shettima on their plans for the year. The purpose of the engagement with the Vice President was to provide an update on their activities since his assumption of office and to outline their plans for the remainder of the year. Dr. Omotayo expressed satisfaction with the fruitful engagement and the Vice President’s determination to support President Bola Tinubu in his mission to improve Nigeria.
A Call for Patience
In acknowledging the Vice President’s understanding of Nigeria’s problems, Dr. Omotayo implored Nigerians to be patient as the current administration addresses the challenges faced by the nation. He emphasized that while understanding the problem is crucial, solving it requires time for the seeds of change to germinate and flourish. Dr. Omotayo encouraged Nigerians to remain hopeful, as he believes that the administration’s efforts will ultimately result in the Nigeria of their dreams.
