In a show of appreciation for their exceptional cultural performances, the Benue State House of Assembly has honored twin sisters, Mercy and Blessing Nev.

Award Presentation

During the plenary session on Tuesday, Speaker Aôndona Dajoh presented the twins with award plaques and certificates, acknowledging their remarkable talent.

Scholarship and Employment Opportunities

In addition to the awards, Speaker Dajoh announced that the recipients would receive scholarships to pursue their undergraduate studies at Benue State University. He also called on Governor Hyacinth Alia to facilitate their immediate employment at the State Council for Arts and Culture, starting at grade level five.

A Motion of Recognition

Moving a motion to recognize the awardees, Majority Leader Saater Tiseer emphasized the importance of celebrating and encouraging deserving individuals like Mercy and Blessing Nev.

Continued Recognition of Excellence

Speaker Dajoh assured the Assembly’s commitment to continuing the tradition of recognizing outstanding Benue citizens. By doing so, he hopes to inspire hard work and excellence in various fields of endeavor.

Dajoh emphasized that the recognition bestowed upon the twins held more value than gold and silver, as it symbolized the pride and appreciation of the seven million citizens of Benue State.

Calls for Employment

Tahav Agerzua, the professional manager of the twin sisters and former Principal Special Assistant to the Governor on Culture and Tourism, appealed to the state government to consider granting automatic employment to Mercy and Blessing Nev.

Recognition of Meritorious Service

In a separate honor, the House also recognized Chief Superintendent of Police Justin Gberindyer from the Nigeria Police Force, Benue State Command, for his outstanding service to the state.

A Plea for Assistance

In light of recent events, Speaker Dajoh implored CSP Gberindyer to intervene and ensure the safe release of Commissioner of Information Mathew Abo, who has been kidnapped.
