Carabao Cup: Steve Bruce Praises Man Utd Players After Dominant 3-0 Win over Palace

Steve Bruce, the former Manchester United player, singled out three players from the Red Devils after their impressive 3-0 victory against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.

Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho opened the scoring, followed by goals from Casemiro and Anthony Martial, securing a comfortable win at Old Trafford.

Harry Maguire’s Stellar Performance

Steve Bruce expressed his admiration for Harry Maguire’s performance, stating, “He’s very, very decent. He made a crucial interception in the first five minutes, which was Palace’s only real attempt in the first half.”

Highlighting Maguire’s consistency, Bruce further added, “He did what Harry does. I’ve seen Harry play like this so many times before, where he has done enough to play well. The supporters’ reaction when he makes tackles speaks volumes. He is certainly the one to watch. Fair play to him,” Bruce told Sky Sports.

Martial’s Exceptional Goal

Commenting on Anthony Martial’s goal, Bruce said, “[His goal was] a quality finish, with his wrong foot. He has faced criticism over the years, but he is undeniably a truly talented footballer. To execute that goal with his weaker foot and place it in the top corner is an outstanding finish.”

Impressive Full Debut of Sofyan Amrabat

When asked about on-loan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat’s performance, who played at left-back on his full debut, Bruce stated, “He looks like a real player.”

Despite questioning Amrabat’s suitability at left-back, Bruce remarked, “He played everywhere but left-back! However, you can see that he possesses a commanding physical presence, which could be a significant asset for Manchester United.”
