Kwara State to Observe Low-Key Independence Day Anniversary

Nigeria

Tunde Akanbi, Ilorin

The Kwara State Government, North Central Nigeria has declared that there will be no elaborate ceremony of any kind on October 1, 2023.

This is to reflect the mood of the nation amid ongoing reforms and strong efforts of the government to ensure sustainable development.

This is contained in a statement issued by the State Commissioner for Communications, Mrs Bolanle Olukoju. The state government has therefore urged citizens to use the October 1 holiday to pray for the state, the country, and the world at large.
