Tribunal Nullifies PDP Lawmaker’s Election, Declares APC as Winner in Plateau State

The National and State Houses of Assembly Election Tribunal in Plateau State has overturned the election victory of Timothy Dantong, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) representing the Riyom constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly.

In a stunning verdict, the court declared Moses Dachum, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the rightful winner of the election.

Under the leadership of Justice B.M Tukur, the Tribunal ruled that the PDP had no valid structure to field a candidate during the election.

Furthermore, the court highlighted that the PDP was disregarding a court order from Justice S P Gang of the Plateau State High Court, issued on November 26, 2020.
