Osun State Governor Cancels Independence Day Celebrations, Calls for Prayers for Nigeria

Ademola Adeleke, the Governor of Osun State, has made the decision to cancel the planned Independence Day celebrations in light of Nigeria’s 63rd anniversary. The governor has instead urged the citizens of Osun to use the occasion to pray for the peace and prosperity of the nation.

In a statement released by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke emphasized the need for reflection and divine intervention during these challenging times in Nigeria.

“Let us take this Independence Day as an opportunity to meditate and pray for the state of our nation. Our people are currently facing difficult times, and it is crucial that we evaluate our situation and seek divine guidance and intervention in the affairs of our country,” Adeleke stated.

As the Independence Day approaches, Adeleke extended greetings to the people of Osun State and Nigerians nationwide. However, instead of festivities, the governor encouraged the residents of Osun to partake in meditation and prayers.
