Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, expressed his commitment to the peace, unity, and progress of all 171 communities in the state, in order to prevent conflicts from arising. The governor made this statement during a media chat and account of stewardship by Ebonyi State executive council members, to commemorate Nigeria’s 63rd anniversary and Ebonyi State’s 27th anniversary, held at the old governors lodge in Abakaliki.

In his address, Governor Nwifuru encouraged critics to provide constructive criticism to his administration. He assured the people that their charter of needs would be fully met.

Speaking to the attendees, the governor said, “You made it possible through your unanimous vote for us, believing in our agenda, our mantra – The People’s Charter of Needs, aimed at building on the previous administration’s accomplishments.

“Since taking office, we have been diligently working. It has been 152 days of driving policies that cater to your needs and implementing strategic initiatives. We have assembled a team of trusted professionals and bureaucrats from among us to serve you in various capacities.”

“We have taken a comprehensive approach to address the immediate needs of the people of Ebonyi, while also laying the groundwork for the future. As a government, we understand the importance of securing the future of our children while meeting your immediate needs.”

He continued, “It is our collective responsibility to deliver the dividends of democracy to our people and propel Ebonyi to new heights of success. I urge all of you to freely and constructively engage with us, knowing that our goal is to leave a legacy of peace and prosperity for the citizens of Ebonyi.”
