Kaduna Tribunal: PDP’s Ashiru Asserts Election Victory, Vows to Reclaim Mandate

The gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the March 18th, 2023 election in Kaduna State, Isa Ashiru, unequivocally claims that he emerged victorious in the election and did not petition for the declaration of an inconclusive result.

Ashiru implores the people of Kaduna State to persist in their prayers, steadfastly seeking the restoration of their stolen mandate within the state.

Addressing the press at his residence over the weekend, Ashiru notes that there are certain crucial aspects of the tribunal’s judgement that warrant an appeal at the court of appeal.

“Our prayers, as upheld by the good people of Kaduna State, have yielded positive outcomes. The tribunal affirmed that the election held on March 18th, 2023 was inconclusive, making the declaration of Uba San as the winner a grave error.”

“It is important to clarify that, after consultations with our legal team, we have agreed that while the tribunal has played its part, we still aim to pursue further legal actions at the court of appeal to rectify certain discrepancies. We possess substantial evidence to support our claims.”

“Contrary to popular belief, given the tribunal’s ruling, a re-run has been ordered in 22 polling units where elections were cancelled. Hence, anyone stating that his victory has been upheld by the tribunal in Kaduna State is disseminating falsehoods and misleading information.”

“It is unfortunate that Governor Uba Sani made the assertion that the tribunal upheld his election victory. This kind of rhetoric is unbecoming of a leader of his stature, particularly in a state as significant as Kaduna, the fulcrum of the northern region.”

“With the verdict of the tribunal, I am confident that we have emerged triumphant in the race. Our initial approach to the tribunal was propelled by the desire to reclaim our stolen mandate, and fortuitously, the tribunal nullified the gubernatorial election conducted earlier this year.”

“I express my gratitude to the loyal people of Kaduna State for their unwavering patience and commitment in the quest to reclaim their mandate. I have taken it upon myself, alongside party leadership and other key stakeholders in the state, to ensure the recovery of this stolen mandate.”
