The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Niger State has called on Nigerians to shift their focus from what divides the country to what unites it.
During the 63rd Independence Day prayer session organized by the state chapter of CAN in Minna, Rev. Bulus Yohanna, Chairman of CAN in Niger State, delivered a message titled “Let us focus on what unites us more as a people.” He emphasized the need for Nigerians to live as an indivisible entity, prioritizing peace, justice, equity, and fairness.
Yohanna said, “As we pray and intercede for our nation today and always, I advocate the need for us to reflect more on what unites us as a people rather than what divides us. The oneness of Nigeria remains more advantageous despite the challenges we are facing as a nation.”
He also urged Nigerians, both individually and collectively, to actively support nation-building efforts and contribute towards moving the country forward.
Regardless of political, religious, or ethnic differences, Yohanna stressed the importance of propagating unity and rallying behind Governor Umar Bago, who has demonstrated commitment and resilience in revamping the state. The chairman encouraged the governor to remain steadfast in ensuring that residents experience unprecedented transformation, particularly in the areas of security, the economy, and the protection of lives and property.
