Abdullahi Sule: I Assert My Position as Governor of Nasarawa State amidst Tribunal Judgment

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has called for calm and reassured his supporters and the people of the state in the wake of the recent tribunal ruling nullifying his election.

In a bid to quell any unrest, Governor Sule emphasized that he remains the governor until the appeals process is exhausted, as permitted by law.

Addressing his supporters and the public on Monday evening, Governor Sule acknowledged the temporary setback but expressed his determination to appeal the judgement at a higher court, unwavering in his pursuit of justice.

He expressed deep gratitude to his supporters, particularly stakeholders and youths, who stood by him throughout the trial. Governor Sule also extended his appreciation to the women who, despite their inability to actively participate, provided unwavering support.

Furthermore, the governor expressed heartfelt thanks to the security agencies and the brave individuals who braved harsh weather conditions to show their support.

“I assert my position as the Governor until I file an appeal, and the law allows us to do so. Regardless of the outcome, I shall continue to serve as Governor until we seek justice from the Supreme Court,” declared Governor Sule.

Governor Sule implored the people of Nasarawa State to maintain calm and refrain from engaging in any activities that could disrupt peace and order within the state.

He emphasized that protests or unrest would not alter the tribunal’s decision and underscored the importance of having faith in the judicial system and the appeals process.

“We still have faith in the judiciary, which is why we are pursuing an appeal in this case,” he asserted.
