The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Fetus Keyamo, has voiced his reaction to the release of President Bola Tinubu’s academic records by Chicago State University (CSU).
Keyamo has called on Atiku Abubakar, the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, to apologize to Tinubu and Nigerians for the humiliation caused.
In a recent post, the minister described Atiku’s journey to Chicago, in an attempt to expose Tinubu, as futile.
In Keyamo’s words: “From the responses received from Chicago State University, ATIKU’s journey to Chicago and back has been a fruitless exercise and a self-humiliating odyssey. President Tinubu and Nigerians deserve an unequivocal apology from him.”
CSU complied with a Chicago court order by releasing Tinubu’s academic records.
In the documents released, CSU confirmed the authenticity of three diplomas that match the certificates Tinubu submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after a thorough search.
Atiku achieved victory in court, following a fierce legal battle, which aimed to investigate Tinubu’s academic qualifications for the February 25 presidential election.
Tinubu had submitted certificates from Chicago State University (CSU) to INEC, in order to establish eligibility to participate in the election.
A United States court issued an order on Saturday, instructing CSU to release Tinubu’s academic records for verification and to support Atiku’s petition, which challenges the result of the 2023 presidential poll.
Justice Nancy Maldonado, in her judgment, dismissed Tinubu’s objection to Atiku’s request and explicitly ordered CSU to submit the academic records to Atiku.
