Don Hutchison, the former Liverpool midfielder, has showered praise on Arsenal’s captain, Martin Odegaard, likening him to Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne.
Hutchison commended Odegaard as an exceptional player who never loses his composure and consistently makes the right decisions on the field.
Odegaard has had a remarkable start to the season, scoring four goals and providing one assist in 10 appearances across all competitions for the Gunners.
The Norwegian sensation played a pivotal role in Arsenal’s commanding 4-0 victory against Bournemouth in the Premier League on September 30, contributing two goals to the team’s triumph.
“He’s an amazing player. He reminds me of Kevin De Bruyne in terms of his influence on the pitch and his proficiency with the ball,” Hutchison shared with Premier League Productions (via HITC).
“He never seems to panic and always makes the right decisions. He positions himself well and consistently finds himself in advantageous areas.”
Hutchison further added, “When you think of players like Erling Haaland, De Bruyne, or Rodri who keep Manchester City ticking, I believe Bukayo Saka and, even more so, Martin Odegaard are the ones who spearhead Arsenal’s success.”
