WAEC to decide on withheld results, other cases today

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) will on Tuesday, deliberate on cases of malpractice and irregularities recorded during this year’s West African Senior School Certificate Examinations, WASSCE.

WAEC made the announcement in a tweet via its X account on Tuesday.

The examination body tweeted, “The 76th Meeting of the Nigeria Examinations Committee (NEC) to consider & decide on the malpractice/irregularity cases arising from the conduct of WASSCE for School Candidates, 2023 begins today.”

Recall that WAEC had in August, initially released this year’s WASSCE results but the release of 262,803 results was put on hold because of alleged examination malpractice.

Meanwhile, WAEC recently appointed Dr. Amos Dangut as its new Head of National Office (HNO).

Until Dangut’s appointment as the council’s head, he was the Deputy Registrar of the office of the HNO.
