(*2*) – Minister assures Nigerians

The Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has mentioned no Nigerian will have to attend greater than two weeks to get a global passport henceforth.

He disclosed this throughout a press briefing in Abuja whereas updating Nigerians on the state of passport backlog within the nation on Wednesday.

“No one will ever wait for two weeks to get passports again. If you apply and have been captured, you will get your passport within two weeks,” he assured, including that the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) had cleared all of the 204,332 passport utility backlogs.

The minister had on September 7, given a two-week ultimatum to the NIS to clear all passport utility backlogs.
