The Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja on Wednesday assured of a speedy take-off of the newly-established 114 Battalion in Wukari, Taraba to deal with insecurity in the state.

Mr Lagbaja gave the reassurance in Abuja when he obtained visiting Gov. Agbu Kefas of Taraba on the Army headquarters.

He stated the transfer was half of efforts to boost the operation and actions of the 6 Brigade of the army and develop the frontiers of peace and stability in the state.

“So, as we get the next set of recruits from depot, we will muster some force and bring them to Taraba to facilitate the take-off of the rear unit of the battalion,” he stated.

Mr Lagbaja recommended the governor for his readiness to offer extra help for the 6 Brigade to make sure the reign of peace and stability in Taraba.
