Abia Tribunal Judgment: No cause for alarm – PDP, Ahaiwe assures supporters

The Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in the 2023 general elections in Abia State, Okey Ahiwe has reacted to the verdict of the election petitions tribunal in Umuahia, which, in its judgment, upheld Alex Otti as the duly elected Governor of the state in the March 18, 2023 polls.

Ahiwe, in a message signed by his media adviser, Victor Nwokocha shortly after the tribunal’s verdict, expressed profound appreciation to his numerous supporters, his legal team, family, friends and associates for their support.

The statement also quoted Ahiwe as telling his supporters, legal team and family members that “there is no cause for alarm regarding the tribunal verdict as truth and justice will ultimately triumph.”

While expressing unblemished confidence in the Judiciary, the PDP candidate in the March 18 election, said his legal team would thoroughly examine the judgment of the tribunal and advise him accordingly on the next line of action.

“Chief Ahiwe called on his teeming supporters to remain calm and law-abiding, assuring that, following due consultations with his legal team and that of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, leadership, he would keep them informed on the direction to take”, the statement said.
