Yobe: Gov Buni signs Hisbah, YITDA bills into law

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State signed into law on Friday two bills establishing the Hisbah Commission and the Yobe State Information Technology Development Agency (YITDA).

The news was disclosed in a statement by Mamman Mohammed, Director-General, Press and Media Affairs, to the Governor.

According to the statement, the Hisbah Commission law is meant to monitor the enforcement and implementation of Shariah and prevent other social vices in the state.

“Similarly, the Yobe State Information Technology Development Agency law is to coordinate and collaborate with institutions in mentoring and training youths in the field of information technology in the state,” the statement added.

According to the statement, the two laws enacted by the Yobe State House of Assembly and signed by Governor Buni, come into effect immediately on Friday, October 6, 2023.
