Afrobeat sensation David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has responded to comedian AY’s public apology following a controversial joke.
In a recent stage performance in Warri, AY made derogatory comments about Davido and insinuated that he had impregnated numerous women with a smaller manhood, while AY himself had struggled with his larger one for over 13 years.
The joke sparked outrage among netizens, who condemned AY for publicly disrespecting his fellow entertainer.
In an Instagram post, AY took responsibility for the joke and apologized to Davido. He explained that the joke had been misinterpreted due to the way it was portrayed by blogs.
AY stated, “I sincerely apologize for the way the joke came across in Warri. I understand your anger after seeing how it was misrepresented by blogs. We are all constantly learning in the entertainment industry. I accept any backlash that may come my way for delivering the joke poorly in Warri. No excuses, my Aburo. No reasons at all. I remain your number one fan, and I love you, @davido.”
In response to the apology, Davido commented on AY’s post, assuring him that there was no need to worry.
He wrote, “Nothing spoil baba mi.”
