Nigeria Premier Football League: Osho Points Finger at Poor Finishing after Akwa United’s Draw with Sporting Lagos

Akwa United’s head coach, Fatai Osho, has expressed disappointment with his team’s failure to secure a victory against Sporting Lagos in their Nigeria Premier Football League matchday two encounter on Sunday. Osho specifically attributed the draw to their inability to convert scoring opportunities.

The Promise Keepers were held to a goalless draw by the newly promoted NPFL team at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo. Despite dominating possession during the game, Akwa United struggled to break down the opposition’s sturdy defense.

Osho, a young and talented tactician, expressed his discontent with the team’s strikers, who were unable to capitalize on the chances they created throughout the match. He stated, “It was almost a one-sided game, but the strikers let us down. The quality of the attack is worrisome, and we are going to work on improving them.” Osho also expressed hope for a positive outcome in their upcoming game against Enyimba.

Having only secured one point from their first two matches of the season, Akwa United will be eager to bounce back and rediscover their winning form.
