Gaza Strip Conflict Expected to Continue for 10 Days, Says Iraqi Foreign Minister

The current escalation in the Gaza Strip is anticipated to last for a minimum of 10 days, with hopes that the fighting will not spill over to neighboring countries, according to Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein.

Hussein made this statement during a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, emphasizing the concerning duration of the hostilities in the region.

“We believe that, unfortunately, the hostilities currently taking place in Gaza could last at least 10 days,” affirmed Hussein.

He further expressed concern that the prolonged conflict may have an adverse impact on the neighboring nations.

The Iraqi Foreign Minister stressed the urgent need for international intervention to halt the hostilities and find a just resolution to the Palestinian issue.

Meanwhile, the heads of Israel’s ruling coalition parties have voiced their support for the establishment of an emergency government.

As a result, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been authorized to take necessary steps for its formation, as reported by the Kan radio broadcaster on Tuesday.

On Monday, Netanyahu appealed to the opposition to establish an emergency government without any preconditions, displaying a willingness to address the crisis collectively.

The escalating conflict in the Gaza Strip remains a significant concern, and the international community is called upon to take immediate action to restore peace and stability in the region.
