Police Apprehend Two Individuals Suspected of Killing VON Reporter in Zamfara

The Zamfara State Police Command has successfully apprehended two persons believed to be responsible for the murder of Hamisu Danjigba, a renowned reporter for the Voice of Nigeria (VON).

During a press briefing in Gusau on Tuesday, the Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Shehu, unveiled the suspects to the public. They have been identified as Mansur Haruna, the reporter’s nephew, and his associate Ibrahim Garba. The duo allegedly conspired to abduct Danjigba, and when he resisted, they resorted to stabbing him, resulting in his tragic demise.

Commissioner Shehu revealed that both suspects admitted their involvement in the crime during the course of the investigation, and items belonging to the late journalist were found in their possession.

In addition to the aforementioned arrests, the commissioner also paraded three other suspected bandits who are notorious for their involvement in kidnapping and sexual assault against women.

Furthermore, another individual was presented before the press for his alleged role in supplying firearms from Abia State.

Commissioner Shehu declared that once the investigations are concluded, all suspects will face prosecution in a court of law.
