We are Ready to Support South West Rail Project – Osun State Government

The administration of Ademola Adeleke in Osun State has expressed its readiness to provide full support for the South West Rail Project. The project, which is being led by the Development Agenda of Western Nigeria (DAWN Commission), aims to improve rail transportation in the region.

During a meeting of South West transport stakeholders in Ibadan, the Commissioner for Transportation in Osun State, Sesan Oyedele, affirmed the state’s commitment to collaborating with other South-West states in developing a comprehensive roadmap for enhancing rail transportation in the area.

Oyedele emphasized the importance of addressing the growing population in the region and meeting the transportation needs of the people. He highlighted the vital role played by Nigeria’s railway system in the country’s transportation sector and overall economic development.

“In order to sustain this progress, we must expedite the development of the transport sector. With Nigeria’s population set to increase by almost 100 million people in the next 10 years, it is crucial that we adopt a collective and strategic approach to railway development. We need to ensure that our future railway plans accommodate the needs of our people,” stated the Commissioner.
