The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has taken decisive action by shutting down two private schools in Abuja for failing to meet the minimum standard requirements in the area. The affected schools, Erudite Bright Kids in Kagini and Jane’s Angela School in Abuja Municipal Area Council, were closed as part of an operation to clamp down on substandard educational institutions.

Dr. Danlami Hayyo, the Mandate Secretary of the Education Secretariat, FCTA, led the team responsible for the closure. He emphasized that this action was necessary to uphold the quality of teaching and learning in schools across the FCT.

The move is in line with the goals of the Department of Quality Assurance, which is responsible for accrediting schools, monitoring their operations, and conducting inspections. The aim is to ensure that schools provide quality educational services and adhere to operational guidelines and minimum standards.

“No school should be allowed to operate in the FCT without proper registration, payment of dues, and adherence to necessary requirements. The Education Secretariat, through the Department of Quality Assurance, is fully committed to cleaning up the system and improving the teaching and learning process. We are also determined to position FCT schools for global competitiveness in the field of education,” stated Dr. Hayyo.
