The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja has revealed that the Nigerian Army (NA) is at present undergoing vigorous and uncommon operational, administrative and structural transformation to shore up its capabilities and effectivity in confronting rising safety challenges.
Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, Director Army Public Relations, in a press release, famous that the COAS made the revelation when he addressed troops on the Headquarters, 2 Division, Adekunle Fajuyi Cantonment, Ibadan.
According to him, Gen Lagbaja famous additional that since his assumption of command, the Nigerian Army has continued to obtain the help of the Federal Government within the type of logistics, fight enablers and welfare help schemes to encourage troops for optimum operational effectivity.
Gen Lagbaja catalogued the interventions acquired from the federal government to incorporate, clearing the backlog of Group Life Insurance scheme cost to Next of Kins of deceased personnel, Implementation of NA Accident Insurance scheme, Sponsorship cum scholarships for kids, amongst others
He charged the troops to reciprocate the Federal Government’s help by remaining loyal to the Constitution and Government of the Federation, simply as he lauded the troops for persevering with to neutralize safety threats and upholding the integrity of the Division’s space of accountability, thereby enabling peace and concord in North West Nigeria.
He assured them that the challenges confronting the Division will obtain applicable consideration, including that troops’ welfare is paramount in his agenda.
He referred to as on the troops to not be left behind within the wave of transformation billowing throughout the Nigerian Army.
