The Yobe State House of Assembly has officially confirmed the appointment of Ibrahim Mallam Aliyu as the substantive Local Government Auditor General. This appointment comes after a thorough review of the nominee’s credentials by the House’s standing committee on Public Accounts.

Committee Report and Appointment Confirmation

Chairman of the House committee on Public Accounts, Hon. Bulama Bukar, presented the committee’s report highlighting the nominee’s impressive performance and extensive experience in the field of financial management and auditing. The committee, after carefully examining the nominee’s curriculum vitae, concluded that he fully meets the requirements of the law for the position of local government Auditor General.

Bukar emphasized the importance of the confirmed nominee to work diligently in showcasing his competence and justifying the confidence placed in him by the state government.

Deputy Auditor General Appointment

The Yobe State Assembly also underscored the necessity for the executive arm of the government to promptly submit the names of two nominees for the position of Deputy Local Government Auditor General for Auditing and Corporate Services. This action is in accordance with the provisions stated in the Audit law.
