Cristiano Ronaldo Could Face Punishment for Breaking Iranian Laws

Portuguese football star and captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, may be subjected to punishment should he ever return to Iran after allegedly getting too close to a fan. Reports from Rouydad24 suggest that the Al-Nassr forward could face 99 lashes.

During Ronaldo’s trip to Iran in September for an Asian Champions League match against Persepolis, he had an encounter with a fan named Fatima, who is also an artist. The incident occurred when the five-time Ballon d’Or winner hugged and kissed the girl, an action that is considered a severe violation of Iranian law outside of matrimony.

As of now, Ronaldo has not received any formal charges regarding the incident.

Presently, Ronaldo is with the Portugal national team, as they prepare for upcoming EURO qualifiers against Slovakia and Bosnia & Herzegovina on Friday and Monday respectively.
