Impeachment: Reprieve for Ondo Deputy Gov, Aiyedatiwa as assembly suspends process

The Ondo State House of Assembly members have agreed to suspend impeachment processes against the state’s deputy governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

According to a post on the All Progressives Congress’s social media platform, X, on Tuesday, the development was to allow for political solutions.

The statement disclosed that lawmakers met with the party’s reconciliation committee and the NWC.

Media Talk Africa reported that the National Working Committee, NWC, of the APC, on Tuesday, met with members of the Ondo State House of Assembly.

The meeting followed moves by the assembly members to impeach Ayiedatiwa.

Recall that the National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, had set up a nine-man reconciliation committee led by Aminu Bello Masari in a bid to stop the impeachment move.

All members of the committee, including the state chairman of the APC, Ade Adetimehin, were in attendance during the Tuesday’s meeting.
