Senate Commences Proceedings for Confirmation of EFCC Chairman, Olukoyede

In a breaking development, the Senate has initiated the proceedings for the confirmation of Mr. Ola Olukoyede as the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Mr. Olukoyede, accompanied by some members of the management staff of the Commission, is currently present at the National Assembly where the confirmation process is underway.

Last week, President Bola Tinubu granted his approval for Olukoyede’s appointment as the Executive Chairman of the EFCC, as reported by Media Talk Africa.

Subject to Senate confirmation, Olukoyede has been appointed for an initial renewable term of four years.

This appointment comes after a lapse of almost four months since the suspension of Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa, the former head of the anti-graft agency, by Tinubu.
