Fire outbreak confirmed at Warri Refinery, says NNPL

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPL) has confirmed a minor fire outbreak at its refinery in Warri, Delta State. The incident occurred as a result of welding activity taking place at the top of the cooling tower.

In a statement released on Friday, the company assured the public that the fire outbreak will not affect the refinery’s rehabilitation project delivery schedule. NNPL Limited safety officers at the refinery promptly responded to the situation and successfully extinguished the fire by 15:30hrs. Normalcy has been restored.

Emphasizing their commitment to safety, NNPL stated that they will continue to adhere to the highest safety standards in all their business operations.
