In a move to improve governance and better serve the people of Zamfara State, Governor Dauda Lawal has given his seal of approval to the appointment of 14 Sole Administrators, along with Secretaries and Supervisory Councillors, to oversee the affairs of the local government areas in the state.
The spokesperson to the Governor, Sulaiman Bala Idris, made this known in a statement issued on Friday, highlighting that the appointees were meticulously selected based on their exemplary past achievements and outstanding track records.
“As part of his unwavering commitment to the welfare of our people, Governor Dauda Lawal has taken the decisive step of appointing Sole Administrators for the 14 Local Government Areas,” the statement read.
Furthermore, the Secretary to the State Government, Mallam Abubakar Nakwada, announced the appointment of the Local Government Secretaries and Supervisory Councillors.
The list of appointees includes:
- Bashar Musa Anka as the sole administrator for Anka Local Government Area
- Sa’idu Danbala as the sole administrator for Bakura Local Government Area
- Isiyaka Ibrahim as the sole administrator for Birnin Magaji Local Government Area
- Nasiru Muhammad as the sole administrator for Bukkuyum Local Government Area
- Nura Umar Bungudu as the sole administrator for Bungudu Local Government Area
- Aminu Nuhu as the sole administrator for Gummi Local Government Area
- Yahaya Garba as the sole administrator for Gusau Local Government Area
- Kasimu Sani Kaura as the sole administrator for Kauran Namoda Local Government Area
- Yahaya Giwa Maradun as the sole administrator for Maradun Local Government Area
- Yusuf Sani Bindi as the sole administrator for Maru Local Government Area
- Lukman Jafar as the sole administrator for Talata Mafara Local Government Area
- Aliyu Adamu Barmo as the sole administrator for Tsafe Local Government Area
- Junaidu Muhammad Barade as the sole administrator for Shinkafi Local Government Area
- Aminu Atiku Zurmi as the sole administrator for Zurmi Local Government Area
It is important to note that the appointments are valid for a period of six months and are subject to confirmation by the Zamfara State House of Assembly.
However, the Secretaries of the Local Government Areas and Supervisory Councillors do not require confirmation from the State House of Assembly.
