Borno Commissioner Ibrahim Idriss-Garba Passes Away

The Borno Government has sadly announced the untimely death of Commissioner Ibrahim Idriss-Garba, who held the portfolio for Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, and Resettlement (RRR). Commissioner Idriss-Garba’s passing occurred in the early hours of Friday, under mysterious circumstances. The news was confirmed by Malam Isa Gusau, the spokesperson for Governor Babagana Zulum, in a statement released on Saturday. The Police have wasted no time in launching an urgent investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding his demise.

Governor Babagana Zulum received the news with deep shock and profound grief. In expressing his condolences, the Governor mourns alongside the late Commissioner’s family, loved ones, friends, colleagues, and members of the State Executive Council. The loss of Commissioner Ibrahim Idriss-Garba is keenly felt within the government and the wider community.

According to reports, the State Commissioner of Police was present at the residence where Commissioner Idriss-Garba passed away. In order to shed light on the cause of death, an autopsy will be conducted at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.

Prior to his appointment as Commissioner for RRR, the late Ibrahim Idriss-Garba served as the Governor’s Special Adviser on Special Projects. His promotion to commissioner marked a milestone in his career, coinciding with the beginning of Governor Zulum’s second term in office.
