Enyimba Vows to Persist Despite Loss to Wydad in AFL Clash

In a hard-fought battle, Nigerian champions Enyimba refuse to back down after suffering a defeat against Morocco’s Wydad Athletic Club in the African Football League quarter-final. The match took place on Sunday at the iconic Godswil Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

In a nail-biting encounter, Wydad secured a narrow 1-0 victory, with their captain Yayha Jabrane scoring the winning goal from the penalty spot just eight minutes before half-time. The game took a turn against Enyimba when Somiari Alalibo was shown a red card late in the match, leaving the Nigerian side with only 10 players on the field.

Even in the face of adversity, Enyimba remains steadfast in their determination to bounce back. The two-time African champions need to score two goals without conceding in the upcoming second leg match to advance to the semi-finals.

“We will not be deterred,” Enyimba declared boldly on their official Facebook page, accompanied by a photograph of the team.

The crucial second leg clash will take place this weekend at the magnificent Mohamed V Stadium in Casablanca, Morocco.
