EPL Drama: Cole Palmer’s Bottle Throw Incident Explained

In an unexpected turn of events, Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer finds himself in the spotlight after accidentally throwing a bottle at manager Mauricio Pochettino. The incident took place during last Saturday’s match between Chelsea and Arsenal at Stamford Bridge, which ended in a 2-2 draw.

Palmer, who recently joined the Blues in a high-profile £42.5 million deal from Manchester City, had a remarkable start to the game, opening the scoring from a penalty kick. However, as the match unfolded and Mykhailo Mudryk scored to make it 2-0 for Chelsea, the Gunners mounted a fierce comeback and eventually secured a point.

It was in the 84th minute, after Arsenal’s equalizer, that Palmer, riled up by the turn of events, impulsively threw a bottle towards the dugout. Unfortunately, his aim went awry, and the bottle struck Pochettino, much to the surprise of everyone present.

Speaking about the incident to Chelsea’s official website, Palmer expressed his regret: “When they scored their second goal, I was getting a drink. I went to throw the bottle away, as you do, but I didn’t look. I just saw it loop dead slow and hit the gaffer.”

Realizing the gravity of his actions, Palmer showed remorse and promptly apologized to Pochettino after the game. With a touch of humor, he concluded, “Hopefully he won’t drop me for that!”

It is important to note that despite the momentary lapse in judgement, the incident does not reflect Palmer’s character or professionalism. As a talented young player, the midfielder will undoubtedly learn from this experience and strive to maintain a positive image both on and off the field.
