Akeredolu Emphasizes Collaboration as He Meets with South West Governors

The Chairman of the South West Governors’ Forum and Governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, convened a meeting with his counterparts from the region on Tuesday.

The meeting, which took place in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, was held amidst speculations surrounding Akeredolu’s alleged incapacitation and his absence from Ondo State.

In attendance were Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun, Engr Seyi Makinde of Oyo, and Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti.

In a statement released by Richard Olatunde, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Akeredolu, the Ondo State Governor expressed profound gratitude to his fellow governors for their unwavering solidarity.

Akeredolu emphasized the paramount importance of continuous collaboration and cooperation among the South-West states in order to effectively address common challenges and pursue shared goals.

While specific details of the discussions were not disclosed, it is believed that they revolved around matters of regional significance.

“Governor Akeredolu, who was appreciative of the governors for their solid support, stressed the need for unwavering collaboration among the Southwest States,” revealed the statement.

Engr Seyi Makinde, the Governor of Oyo State, expressed the collective prayers of the Forum for Governor Akeredolu, affirming the unwavering support of all the governors in the region.

“The governors deliberated on national and regional issues affecting the region and its people,” the statement further added.
