The 8 Division Garrison troops have successfully eliminated a significant number of terrorists in Sokoto State, located in the North West region of Nigeria. Others fled the scene with gunshot wounds, leaving behind evidence of their presence.
During the subsequent mop-up operations, the troops discovered and seized three AK-47 Rifles, one PKT Gun, 125 rounds of 7.62 mm Special ammunition, 2 Rocket propelled Gun Bombs, and 9 motorcycles.
In an official statement released by Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, the Director of Army Public Relations, it was disclosed that on October 24, 2023, the troops executed a meticulously planned offensive operation in Tukandu Village. The primary target of this operation was a notorious group of terrorists known for their dreadful and inhumane activities within the area.
Commending the troops for their gallantry, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, urged them to remain steadfast and intensify their efforts in crushing the terrorists, thereby impeding their ability to operate freely.
