Supreme Court Set to Announce Verdict on Atiku and Obi’s Petitions on October 26

The highly anticipated day has finally arrived as the Supreme Court of Nigeria has scheduled Thursday, October 26, to deliver its final verdict on the petitions brought forward by the presidential candidates, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Gregory Obi of the Labour Party (LP). These petitions challenge the validity of the declaration of President Bola Tinubu as the winner of the recent presidential election.

Dr Awemeri Festus Akande, the Director of the Press and Information at the Supreme Court, confirmed this news on Wednesday, ensuring that all necessary security measures have been implemented to maintain peace and order both inside and outside the court premises.

During Monday’s proceedings, a panel of seven esteemed Justices, with Justice John Inyang Okoro at the helm, heard final arguments from the lawyers representing the involved parties in these petitions. After careful consideration, the Justices have reserved their judgments until the designated day.
